Q: What types of wood do you work with?

A: We work with any exterior wood including redwood, cedar, teak, IPE, and more!

Q: How often should I get maintenance on my deck?

A: Each project’s maintenance timeline will vary depending on how much sunlight it receives, the climate in your area, foot traffic, and other factors. We will gladly create a maintenance plan for you. Give us a call at (650) 547-1597 to get started!

Q: Do you treat composite decks?

A: Yes! We do. We can use water based or oil based products depending on your preference.

Q: Do you do interior work?

A: Our wood preservation work is exterior only, so we do not treat interior wood. We do offer both interior and exterior painting.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.  Carlos and his team did an excellent job.  We couldn't be happier about our large IPE deck repair and restoration.  They removed an old hot tub, patched in new structure and deck boards, and cleaned, sanded and re stained the entire 800 sq ft deck that hadn't been maintained in several years. They worked consistently, daily, showed up when they said they would and got the project done in about a week.  It all looks brand new and gorgeous.  We will definitely call them back for maintenance when it's needed!

He came on time to give me a quote and was able to schedule the work about a week out.  I’d requested several quotes,  but Carlos’s quote was the most reasonable and most detailed.  He even restored a wooden table and chairs I had on the deck.  Several years before, he had done a much larger project for my daughter and did a great job there also.  A big plus is that he is a very pleasant person and easy to work with.

I hired Total Wood Preservation to stain the newly installed gates and to refresh patio railings. I couldn't be happier with the job performance, efficiency, and quality. In addition, Carlos offered his valuable opinion on other items around the house,  and explained how he can turn my old and dirty looking fence into looking like brand new. He even volunteered to fix for free quite a few imperfections left by the previous gates contractor. I will definitely come back to Carlos for my next house project. Carlos and his crew went above and beyond and had solutions to unexpected issues that came up. Carlos always made himself available via text/call throughout both jobs. Carlos was incredibly responsive and did a great jmanaging the project which included, refinshing a deck, rebuiling a fence and buildfing a mnew guard rail for my house.  He was on site when needed and checked in with me regularly throughout the project which lasted over a week.. The deck looks fantastic and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I highly recommend this company.

Carlos and team have stained 4 of our redwood decks: they sanded them down to bare wood, they power washed it, bleached the wood, and finally stained it. It came out very nice! They are a hard working team, they take pride in what they do, very meticulous and neat. Highly recommend their services! Top notch, very happy with them and I have maintained my decks for last 25 years with various service providers. I believe Carlos tops them all for me

They are professional, knowledgeable, and hardworking.  I have a 35-year-old 3-level redwood deck with built in planters and benches.  They made it look like new for a very reasonable price.  There were a few places that were rotting and they repaired them. They also moved all the heavy items off of the deck and returned afterwards to replace.  Carlos is very responsive to texts and easy to communicate with.  I would not hesitate to hire him again.
